Do I need to read every novella?
Usually no for a first read. Novellas are often best once you already care about the world, unless a reading-order page marks one as an arc bridge.
Which novella is most important?
Diamond Fire is useful in Hidden Legacy because it bridges Nevada's arc and Catalina's arc. A Court of Frost and Starlight also helps ACOTAR readers move between phases, even though it is quieter than the main novels.
What is the difference between novella, standalone, and alternate POV?
A novella is shorter side or bridge material. A standalone can be a full-length book that sits beside a main arc. Alternate POV retells existing story events from another character's perspective, like The Awakening as Told by the Boys.
Can I save all novellas until after the main series?
Often yes, especially for Wraith Kings and Zodiac Academy. For Hidden Legacy and ACOTAR, the bridge novellas are more useful in sequence.
