Big A.S.S Party Book Recap – Book 5.5 in Zodiac Academy Series
During a lunar eclipse beach party, Max Rigel uses his Siren lure to draw Geraldine Grus to him. She resists his powers but agrees to spend one night together, putting aside their political differences. They seal the deal with magic, fly across campus on his air magic, swim in Aqua Lake where she sees his stunning Siren form, and end up having passionate sex at his room in Aqua House—with Geraldine taking control by tying him up with vines.
Months later, it’s the Vegas’ birthday (June 11th). Geraldine has spent six months planning an elaborate surprise party, building a miniature Palace of Souls with earth magic. The Heirs’ own sad attempt at a party is abandoned. When Mildred Canopus blackmails her way onto the guest list, the Heirs trap her in an ice prison using Darius (shirtless and oiled) as bait. Darius is miserable—he can’t touch Tory due to their Star Crossed bond and will have to marry Mildred after graduation.
At the party, the Vegas accidentally insult everyone while thanking Geraldine for keeping things “small”—not realizing hundreds of guests are hidden. Tory saves the moment by pretending they knew all along. Darius gives Tory a charm bracelet with a rose quartz dragon symbolizing he belongs to her; when she kisses him, an earthquake strikes from the Star Crossed curse. Darcy is heartbroken over Orion being in Darkmore prison. To cheer her up, Geraldine turns Seth into a giant turnip; he retaliates by turning her into a buttery bagel, finally making Darcy laugh.
The party continues with 5-foot-tall cakes shaped like the twins, Seth mooning the crowd, Max and Geraldine sneaking off for sex in a garden replica, and a fireworks finale painting the Vegas’ faces across the sky. Tory whispers to Darius that this is actually their first birthday party ever. As everyone pairs off to head home, Max resolves to make Geraldine officially his.
The next morning, Max asks Geraldine to be his girlfriend. She tearfully refuses, revealing a secret: she’s already agreed to marry Justin Masters after graduation—a political match to serve the Vegas’ cause. She challenges Max to bend the knee to the Vegas if he truly wants her; he refuses. Instead, he proposes they spend the two years until graduation together anyway, with him trying to change her mind. She’s tempted but afraid to agree. Max walks away determined to make her fall so hard she can’t marry anyone else—even if it means risking his heart being crushed.
