Monsters of Faery
Monsters of Faery is Mallory Dunlin's fae and monster romance series for readers who want nonhuman love interests, fae bargains, dark fantasy atmosphere, and a more niche creature-romance path. Dunlin's own store groups the books as Monsters of Faery, so start here if you want the creature-forward lane before clicking into individual titles.

Reading path

Reader fit
Choose it if you want monster romance, fae bargains, unusual nonhuman attraction, and a darker creature-forward fantasy romance lane. This is not “fae court intrigue with one beastly hero”; the whole appeal is that each book leans into a different kind of monstrous or mythic love interest.
What readers tend to notice
Readers who like this lane usually want the fantasy element to affect the romance body-first: claws, wings, bargains, power imbalance, captivity setups, and attraction that is not simply human-with-pointed-ears. Readers who want gentle fae courts, low spice, or a familiar royal romance structure should start elsewhere. This page is strongest as a monster-romance discovery route, not a generic ACOTAR follow-up.
Before you start
This is not a broad beginner romantasy recommendation. It should be routed to readers who already want monster romance or creature-forward fantasy romance.
Best reader match
Best for monster romance, fae bargains, and spicy fantasy-romance discovery paths.
Choose this over...
Choose Monsters of Faery over Wraith Kings when the reader wants spicier creature romance, and over Fae Isles when nonhuman attraction matters more than court politics.
