Reading community fit
Martineau is most useful for readers who want romantasy with a built-in cost system. Instead of only court drama or training-school danger, her strongest hooks are physical consequence, illness, magical creatures, and bargains where love and survival are tangled together.
Before you start
Pick by magic system. Start with House of Blight if the hook is healing magic and gothic disease. Start with Kingdom of Exiles if the hook is magical beasts, assassins, and adventure romance.
